Kids helping each other and lots of smiles! That is what the ROAR program is all about. Mr. Winter's 5th grade class wrapped up the elementary winter adventures with another great trip to Boulder Pass. Determined to walk further than any other class, the 5th graders walked a total of 3.8 miles. Congratulations Mr. Winter's class!

As a class team building exercise, Mr. Avila’s class was challenged to walk further than Mrs. King’s 3rd grade class did last week. Challenge accepted and conquered. Mr. Avila’s adventure rangers were able to snowshoe almost 3 ½ miles, beating Miss King’s class by little more than a ½ mile.

It's been a busy week for the ROAR program. On Wednesday, Miss King's 3rd grade traveled to Boulder Pass for their snowshoe adventure. This energetic group was eager for the adventure and had a great time outside. The frigid temperatures during December forced many adventures to be postponed. With warmer temperatures on Thursday, Mrs. Campbell's 1st grade enjoyed a mini adventure snowshoeing around the elementary school grounds.

School/Student Calendar Revision: Due to a slight oversight or misunderstanding during the school district calendar adoption last year, Jan. 2nd will now be a NO SCHOOL DAY in observance of New Year's Day and in accordance with state/federal laws. This will tentatively add a student day on June 12th to ensure students receive 180 days of school required by the state. June 12th will be added to the calendar as an early release day. Official information surrounding June 12th will be communicated by each school and/or district in June. We apologize for the inconvenience and want to wish all our students and families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Winter Break: Dec. 21-30 New Year's Day Observance: Jan. 2 (No School) School Resumes: Jan. 3
